Another Saturday in Nairobi.
Hello Loved Ones,
It is Saturday morning so I am at the cyber cafe updating the world on my life. This week has been interesting. I was hit with some stomach issues this week. Nothing that kept me from working each day but it's just left my stomach unsettled. I have pretty much lost my appetite for all food. It's not that I don't like the Kenyan food anymore, its just that I feel queasy when I think about eating it. I will get over it I'm sure.
This week I got to help a huge church run VBS at the main center. It was a wonderful week. I helped with the snacks and just got to spend a lot of great time with some really awesome kids. I love what I'm doing.
I have been spending some good time with the people in my group. We have done a lot of laughing and singing and dancing in the past few days.
I have learned a lot about who God is and how He is working here this week. One God story that really sticks out was on last Sunday. I was feeling a little bit down in the dumps and not very happy. I was praying that God would bring some happiness into my life here. Before church a woman came and met us. She was going to bring us that morning and she had her 3 kids with her. Her little daughter came up to me right away and was by my side for the rest of the day. It was really really cute. She wanted to hold my hand and sit on my lap. She put her arm around my waist as we walked and it just melted my heart. She was just what I needed. Her name was Joy. I realized that moment that God was answering my prayers - that he was bringing "Joy" into my life. I cried. It was a moment when all I felt was God's overwhelming love and peace.
Can I just say that I LOVE America!! hahaha. This week has made me realize that I am so blessed to live where I live. America is awesome!!!! Please pray that I stop wishing for America and that I can be content here. I don't want to miss this.
Thank you all for your love and support and prayers. It really means so much.
Until next week...
